How cost-effective are Ultion Locks?

In the UK, a burglary takes place every 106 seconds.

The burglar will want to find the quickest and easiest route inside, so it is imperative your customers feel as safe as possible inside their home. Doors fitted with standard locking cylinders can be opened in as little as nine seconds. Ultion locks provide a fool proof defence against burglaries. Investing in Ultion locks will not only keep your customer’s home secure, but also offer them peace of mind. You can’t put a price on safety.

At The Builders Choice, our EasyFold aluminium bifold doors come with the option of installing Ultion 3 Star Plus locks on the master door. On top of our toughened safety glass, an Ultion lock will help your customers feel more secure in their home.

What is an Ultion lock?

An Ultion cylinder has a hidden lock which automatically engages when it detects an attack. This is called the Double Lockdown Mode™. The hidden lock consists of 2 hardened steel attack rods and it is encased inside a solid molybdenum core, which is 25 percent denser than iron.

Security Benefits of the Ultion lock

Most normal security locks have 5 or 6 pins. Ultion locks use 11. The locks used with our EasyFold aluminium bifold doors use almost 3 times the number of key combinations as a standard lock. The Ultion lock also has 20-point drill protection. 20 hardened steel pins and plates are placed strategically to protect the lock from a drill attack.

Ultion 3 Star Plus locks come with the UK’s thickest key, 60 percent thicker than the standard, which means the Ultion key is more resistant to snapping.

Key Control

Another layer of protection to help safeguard your client’s home is Ultion’s key control. By registering on Ultion’s website, they can prevent their keys from being copied without their permission. They will be given a unique code that they can link to an email address, and each time a new key is ordered, they will receive an email asking for approval. This is a great way for them to protect their lock and home.

At the same time as registering for key control, they can activate Ultion’s £2,000 guarantee. Should a burglary take place within 5 years from the date of installation and entry was achieved by snapping one of their cylinders, Ultion will compensate them £2,000.

Unbeaten in every test

To pass the TS007 durability cycle test, a lock must be used 100,000 times. The Ultion 3 Star Plus lock that is used in conjunction with our EasyFold doors can withstand more than 1,000,000 cycles. As well as security, it provides an extremely high level of durability, and is tested to the highest Kitemark rating, achieving 3 stars.

Ultion locks are also tested with the Master Locksmith Association, achieving their highest standard – Sold Secure Diamond. For further peace of mind, the Ultion locks are a Police Preferred Specification.
